Cura can offer staff training on a range of topics. Some of the work on offer includes:

  • Attachment difficulties in the classroom
  • Understanding complex behaviour
  • Secondary stress and staff support
  • Group programmes for children to aid resiliency

Cura will liaise to develop a package of care and support if required or can offer ‘one off’ consultations or staff training. Please feel free to contact us for a discussion of your needs.

Local Authorities, Fostering & Adoption Agencies

Our work with Local Authorities includes pre proceedings assessments. In line with judicial recommendations Cura supports the assessment of families before proceedings are begun to ensure that Local Authorities have clear recommendations for treatment and support of families if appropriate. We also provide therapeutic interventions for ‘brink of care’ families drawing upon recognised models of interventions such as Mentalisation Based Therapy.

Staff consultation and support are available to enable social workers and family support workers to sound out their issues and concerns and develop their thinking using psychological models. This ensures plans for children are robust and social workers feel assured of their evidence and analysis prior to court. Such work can sometimes negate the need for expensive expert reports.

Cura works with adoption agencies to offer adopted families DDP informed attachment therapy, Theraplay and other attachment informed therapies.

Cura has extensive experience of supporting and training foster carers in areas such as attachment and developmental trauma. We understand the complex interplay between a child’s history and the needs and history of their carers too. If you are interested in what Cura can offer your team or organisation please get in touch.
